But given the standard player interaction is hostile in Sea of Thieves or, at best, standoffish, I'm not sure I can say that the average Sea of Thieves player is good.įlameheart verses the Sea of Thieves seems to be more order (Flameheart) verses chaos (everyone else), rather than good verses evil the way the Jedi verses Sith conflict is. No, the Jedi are basically good and always at least well-intentioned. On the other hand, he's got a fleet on ships, a bunch of loyal lieutenants, awesome powers, immortality of some description, and an actual plan to impose a kind of order on the Sea of Thieves. So on the one hand, he's pretty clearly an evil tyrant. As a burning skeleton or whatever, not as a person. Flameheart is of course programmed to be basically the same as the playerbase, he's hostile no matter what you do.īut imagine that it was possible to appeal to him to join him and his fleet. You meet the occasional decent person but for the most part it's relentless combat, paranoia, and a struggle to survive against other pirates who are extremely hostile to you and your continued existence and will sink you for any reason or no reason. The reality on the ground is basically The Purge. In particular if you read Glitterbeard's journals, or in fact most journals, almost every single one of them involves friendly interaction with other pirates or at least being left alone if you're likewise leaving people alone.īut that's not the reality on the ground. The lore for Sea of Thieves seems to suggest that the Sea of a place of camaraderie as often as combat, at least between pirates (less so between pirates and skeletons).
